BY AIR: The closest major airport is Bradley International Airport, 45 miles south, just over the Massachusetts/Connecticut border in Windsor Locks, CT.
Logan Airport in Boston is a bit farther, about 90 miles east (2 hours with traffic). Sometimes, it can be worth the longer drive for cheaper airfare.
